I’ve never gone on a big “spring break trip,” so I figured since it’s my senior year of college and I may never get a Spring Break again, it’s now or never! My cousin Abby and I went back and forth about where we wanted to go, as we were trying our best to do this trip on a budget. We ended up booking our flights to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Best choice ever if you’re trying to travel cheaply. Affordable airfare as well as very affordable dining and lodging once you’re there.
We found our lodging through Airbnb, and stayed at 2 different types of places while we were there which both led to very different experiences. One of the places we stayed at was a studio apartment that we rented for ourselves, and the other was just a private room in a couple’s home. You guys. Private rooms are the way. to. go. Not only is it more affordable, but you get to meet locals and hear their advice on where to go and what to do. The couple that we stayed with also hosted various other couples, individuals, and families from all over the world, and it was so fun getting to talk and explore with them.
Mexico was beautiful and so warm and so tropical. I think it’s safe to say I ate my weight in tacos and ceviche while we were there, but it was so so worth it. 10/10 would recommend.
