Sexton Family | Minneapolis Family Photographer

I photographed the Sextons last year soon after their little girl was born (you can see photos from that session here), so getting to come back and photograph them about 9 or 10 months later and see how both kids had grown and changed was really really special.

One of my absolute favorite things about family photography is when clients continually invite me back to photograph their lives. Not only do we get to know each other better over time, but I get to see and photograph the different milestones of the family and the kiddos that maybe not every photographer would notice if it were their first session together. What do I mean by that? Here’s an example. Say at my first session with a family, the littlest one wasn’t yet super interactive (or even a physical quality: had no hair or teeth yet). Then they invite me back one year later and that same little one is now laughing at silly things mama does or maybe now they have little curls on the top of their head and teeth growing in. Whatever it may be, since I was there a year earlier, I’m now able to notice and capture those new developments, big or small. All these little moments are so fleeting and it makes me giddy thinking that I have the ability to help you remember them forever!
