Velez-Luce Family

I’ve been photographing these three since their maternity days, and every year since. I cannot express how much fun it has been to document their family throughout the years. From maternity to the newborn stages to the toddler years, and now onto the little girl years.

They moved to a new home recently, and this beach where we met for this session has been one of significance to them ever since. They were so at ease here— running around with their shoes off, dipping their toes in the water, enjoying the sunshine and each others’ company— and it created such stunning, true-to-life photos.

I get a lot of questions about what the prettiest place is for photos, and while yes there are some very aesthetically pleasing locations, my absolute favorite locations are the ones that mean something to YOU. The places you go to escape from the craziness of life. The places that you go to as a couple or a family to have fun or relax where you feel like you can let go or just be. The places that hold lots of warm memories. Whether that’s in your home, at the beach, or even in an ice cream shop, those are the places that will tell your story. It’s my goal to capture photos that are not only beautiful, but also mean something to you when you look back at them in 20, 30, 40, 50 years. And I imagine that looking at photos of you and your loved ones in spaces that were significant to you at that moment in time will help me do just that.
