Gus + Alma : Wedding

A year ago today I only dreamt of someday being able to photograph couples’ engagements, much less a wedding. So you can imagine my level of excitement/terror when I was asked to shoot my first wedding only a few months ago. Terror because I had never done anything like it, and excitement because I finally got the chance to do what I’ve wanted to do for so long.

I met Gus and Alma for the first time during the middle of a snowstorm at a Starbucks. Despite the horrible weather, when they walked in, I was greeted with two big smiles and immense amounts of kindness. These two have such a noticeable, genuine love for God, for others, and for each other (which makes total sense, considering they’ve been dating for ELEVEN years prior to marriage)!! I don’t know what it feels like to finally get married to the love of your life and your best friend after 11 years of waiting, but I think that the pure joy that I saw and captured from both Gus and Alma on their wedding day is a pretty good indicator of that.
