Thomas & Shelby — Lincoln Park Engagement

Thomas and Shelby….oh boy. I don’t even know where to begin!! I met Thomas here at North Park. We had our Intro to the Bible and Statistics classes together during our Freshman year but never really acknowledged each other (lol). It wasn’t until the first semester of Sophomore year that we started to actually speak to each other, and it was then that I started getting to hear stories from Thomas about his wonderful wonderful girlfriend (now fiancee), Shelby. 

Thomas is from Nebraska and Shelby is from Iowa, but they first crossed paths with each other at a Bible camp in Nebraska called Camp Rivercrest (also where they’re getting hitched next June!!!). And the rest was practically history. 

I’ve always been so blown away by the love these two share, and I’m continually inspired by their rock-solid faith in God. Thomas and Shelby, for almost the entirety of the time they dated, were long distance. Thomas here at North Park, and Shelby at Crown College in Minnesota for one year, and then at Moody Bible in Spokane, Washington for another. To say that being long distance for that long of a time period is hard is probably an understatement, but these two soldiered through it and somehow made it look like a breeze. Fast forward two years later and they’re both (finally) living in the same city (!!!!), engaged, and planning for forever together.
